This paper consists of six (6) pages.

Instructions

1. Start with a cover page stating the module code (HRM3705) and your student number.
2. The cover page should be followed by your answers to the questions. Note that all three
questions are compulsory. There are no elective questions.
3. There is no need for a table of contents, an introduction, a conclusion or a list of references.
Simply answer all the questions.
4. Number each question and sub-question clearly.
5. Facts must be written out in complete, well-formulated sentences. No marks will be awarded for
vague or single-word answers.
6. Students suspected of dishonest conduct during the examination will be subjected to
disciplinary processes. Unisa has a zero tolerance for plagiarism and/or any other forms
of academic dishonesty.
7. Ensure that you submit a declaration of honesty on myUnisa.
8. Ensure that your PDF document (answer file) is not encrypted to a “secured” mode and that it is
not password protected since secured or password-protected files cannot be marked. Virus-
infected files will not be marked. The maximum file size is 20 Mb.
9. No late or e-mailed submissions will be accepted.
10. Submit your answers in a single PDF document on the myExams platform
(https://myexams.unisa.ac.za/portal). Go to Take-Home or Portfolio Exam (File Upload) On
myExams for details on the steps that you should follow.

Additional instructions

1. Submit your answers as a single PDF file. You should preferably type your answers (font: Arial 12) and
then convert your document to PDF for submission. However, if this is not possible, you may write your
answers down and scan them to a PDF file. Please write legibly. Ensure that all the pages are scanned
in the correct format and that the pages are displayed correctly, otherwise the answer file will not
be marked.
2. When you upload your answer script (PDF file), it must not be password protected or uploaded as a “read
only” file.
3. NO e-mailed scripts will be accepted. Please utilise the contingency link provided by your module lecturer
should you be unable to submit on the myExams platform.
4. You are permitted to resubmit your answer scripts should the initial submission be unsatisfactory.
5. An answer script submitted in an incorrect file format will not be considered. An uncollated answer script
will also not be considered.
6. Preview your submission (answer script) to ensure that it is legible and that the correct file has been
uploaded.
7. Incorrect answer scripts and/or a submission made on an unofficial examination platform (including The
Invigilator) will not be marked, and no opportunity will be granted for resubmission.
7. The mark awarded for an incomplete or illegibly scanned submission will be the final mark. No opportunity
will be granted for resubmission.
8. Only the last file uploaded and submitted will be marked.
9. Submissions will only be accepted form registered student accounts.
10. If you have not used the invigilation tool (The Invigilator) you will be deemed to have transgressed Unisa’s
examination rules and will have your marks withheld.
11. You must complete the online declaration of own work when submitting. Students suspected of dishonest
conduct during the examination will be subjected to disciplinary processes. Students may not communicate
with other students, or request assistance from other students during examinations. Plagiarism is a
violation of academic integrity, and students who do plagiarise or copy verbatim from published work will
be in violation of the Policy on Academic Integrity and the Student Disciplinary Code and may be referred
to disciplinary hearing. Unisa has a zero tolerance for plagiarism and/or any other forms of academic
dishonesty.
12. You will have one hour to submit your answer script after the official examination time. Submissions made
after the official examination time will be rejected by the examination regulations and will not be marked.
13. Non-adherence to the processes fur uploading examination responses will not qualify you for any special
concession or future assessments.
14. Queries that are beyond Unisa’s control include the following:
a. Personal network or service provider issues
b. Load shedding/limited space on personal computer
c. Crashed computer
d. Using a work computer that blocks access to the myExam site (work firewall challenges)
e. Unlicensed software (e.g., licence expires during exams)

If you are experiencing the above challenges, you are advised to apply for an aegrotat and submit
supporting evidence within ten days of the examination session. You will not be able to apply for an aegrotat
for a third examination opportunity.
