1. Based on the complaints that Piet has heard from Dakalo, what are the
motivators necessary to retain these employees? Give reasons for your
answer. (5)

decisions. According to Forbes (2011) it is necessary to give employees the ability to
make their own decisions and be responsible for their outcome. Surveys show that
employees that can have control over their daily environment have a higher level of
job satisfaction and stay longer. Moreso, ClickMode can creating a mentoring
programme to retain employees. According to Wanirch et al 2014:356 companies
cited retaining talent as a goal for their mentoring programme, companies report
noticeable reductions in attrition rates soon after initiating mentoring activities. Other
companies have found that the availability of mentoring programmes enhances their
success in recruiting top candidates. As such a mentoring programme can be
created by Piet in order to retain these employees.

2. Piet feels that because they are a small company, it is difficult for him to
provide both a cash payment and benefits. He has therefore approached
your HR consulting firm to assist him in understanding the benefits that his
