Assignment 2
This Assignment has two sections, they are both compulsory and are part of this assignment. This
assignment is marked out of 100 marks. If you decide to leave out one section, you will fail this
assignment.

Section A (50 marks)

a) This question is straight forward as it main wants you the read the Case Study then afterwards
you need to relate to the reader in your own words about what is happening.
-You are also supposed to express your thoughts as to why this is happening.
-Therefore, in this question there is no need for citations.
-this is worthy 10 marks (maximum one page, or 4 paragraphs)

b) this question is a bit tricky in that the question wants you to focus on the implications of the
‘causes of protests’ which are like the one in the case study.

-the question does not want you to focus on the implications of the protest in the case study or
protests in general.

-How do the ‘causes’ which you have in mind and those which you have read from literature impact
on the development of a community, municipality and whole country?

-in your answer you can cite sources to support your points and have a reference list for this
question

-this is worth 20 marks

-maximum 2 pages long

c) this question is focused on your own community or any chosen community

- you need to provide the name of the community, province and country (in other word what is the
name of the community and where is it located).

- you must identify one challenge which has affected your community, most importantly it must be
an economic infrastructure challenge/problem.

- briefly explain the causes of that economic infrastructure challenge, and also described the
implications of the challenge which were experienced by the community

-how did the community react to the challenge/problem, and did the reaction lead to the solution or
not?

-this is worth 20 marks.

-your answer should be almost the same length as that of (b).

Section B (50 marks)
