1. WELCOME
Dear Student,
Welcome to the Teaching Practice TPF2601 module. This examination portfolio
50 must be completed as part of the compulsory (two weeks learning from
practice) teaching practice. You don’t need to be in the school during this time.
During these two weeks, you are expected to complete case studies, scenarios
and online-based activities. We hope you will find this module interesting and
that it will enrich your teaching career. It also serves as preparation before you do
the three weeks of school-based teaching for portfolio 51.
You must read through all the tutorial letters you receive, which you can
download soon after registration, as they always contain important, and
sometimes, urgent information. They are our way of communicating with you
about teaching, learning and assessment.
Tutorial Letter 101 contains important information about the assignments for
this module. We urge you to read through it carefully and to keep it at hand
when working through the study material, preparing the assignments, and
addressing questions to your lecturers.
We have also included certain general and administrative information about this
module. Please study this section of the tutorial letter carefully. It contains the
first round of “two weeks” online Teaching Practice, which requires you to
complete case studies, scenarios and the online lesson activities provided.
Submit this examination portfolio before you do the three weeks in the school of
placement you choose. The examination portfolios are the final examination of
the module.
We are aware that problems may occasionally disrupt your studies. Please
contact your lecturer via e-mail or by telephone should you wish to discuss
these.
We hope you will enjoy this module and we wish you
success! Your lecturer,
