Analyse the information in the class summary. What are your learners’ strengths and weaknesses?
Learners’ strengths- I found that students reading ability is good with four out of the six students with a score of 7.0 and the
other two students with a score of 6.0. The students speaking scores varies between 6.0 and 5.5. They are close to each
other. Speaking and listening to understand also goes hand in hand so with a bit of practice students should improve fast.
Learners’ weakness- Learner’s weaknesses is listening and speaking with marks that differs a lot form one another. Listening
and writing focused lessons will improve students speaking such and pronunciation of words and it will build their
understanding and vocabulary in English.
Which two skills have you chosen to teach in this lesson? Why? (Minimum 150 words)
The two skills I chose is Writing and Listening. I feel they are the areas were learners need to improve. It is also skills that
will help learners with other skills like spelling, speaking, understanding and also to expand their vocabulary.
Listening is an important skill learners need to learn in orders to successfully build their English vocabulary. Listening is vital
for the learning of languages as it provides input for learners. Without understanding the input learning cannot begin.
Writing skills are an important part of communication. When learners write they learn spelling and pronunciation of words
and sentences. Good writing skills will help you communicate clearly to a larger audience.
