The internet as a teaching tool is beneficial in a sense that according to Lesame,
Mbatha and Sindane (2012:4) state it can be interactive, collaborative and exploratory
whereby it is also flexible and students can choose when to cooperate with the material,
it is also learner centered whereby a learner has control and to what extend the learner
can be engaged with learning and can allow learners to participate without high costs
such as having a huge class in a physical sense whereas it can be accessible to those
registered for distance learning.

Lesame et al (2012:4) states that according to Graham, Cagiltay, Craner, Lim and Duffy
(2000) mentions that through distance learning, it is important have good teaching
practices and their research revealed that through specific courses, it is encouraged to
encourage active learning whereby students are presented with real-world assignments,
students are encouraged to communicate with their lectures through emails and calls,
and, encourage to express their views. However, there are always areas that require
improvement such as encouraging cooperation from students, constant feedback from
lecturers and a user-friendly interface for students to utilize.

Furthermore, using the internet is quite challenging for many people who became
exposed to using the internet at a later stage or couldn’t grasp the minimum. Digital
