authorise peacekeeping missions. E.g., the peacekeepers have served in Burundi, AU force has also
been deployed in Somalia since March 2007.

In august 2010 the AU and USAID signed their first long-term assistance agreement to advance
prosperity, peace, and stability in Africa.
