Introduction:
I have been working for a PC repair company as an IT Technician. I will be writing a report
for my manager in which I will be evaluating the support and management needs and
characteristic; including purpose and nature, safe working practice, job roles and system
and networks tools used, for at least 2 different organisations. The 2 different organisations
I will be using to write my report are A School and A travel Agency.
P1. Explain the purpose and nature of safe working practices
required in the support and management of different IT systems:
Purpose and nature of safe working practices for A school:
Schools must establish a safe and secure digital educational environment in order to
facilitate successful teaching and learning. An IT system may help the school accomplish this
aim. School will be hugely dependent on their IT system so they will be having a in house IT
system and hired IT technicians who will be looking after the IT system of the school. The
school will be responsible for creating the safe working practices to keep the employees and
the IT system both digitally and manually.
Purposes:
The staff of the school can keep the IT system secured from any kind of security
breach or hackers.
The objective of health and safety standards is to safeguard school and their
employees from injury, disease, or other forms of damage in the workplace while
giving assistance to users and managing the system.
If school staff can work in a secure setting, morale and overall productivity will rise.
The employees will be able to communicate and teamwork during normal or
emergency situations of the school.
The staff will be able to identify the hazards, risk control and will be using the correct
equipment to use their devices.
Natures:
Induction training for the new employees who will be joining the school on how they
will be providing support for the school.
Training on about how they will be communicating with their team of the school and
how they will be doing teamwork in case of emergency situation.
Training on fire safety and emergency procedure.
Educate the workers on how to recognise potential hazards. Assessing the likelihood
of danger to its workers and then devising a strategy to minimise that risk as much as
possible helps identify any potential sources of risk or harm.
Teach the employees how to do a task assessment that includes all the necessary
information. By completing a task assessment, employees may learn more about
how to operate in the environment and how to use the necessary equipment.
