1. Op de losse voet: dorsiflexie (enkel, dan is ze ook zichtbaar) met
zwakkere adductie en supinatie van het talotarsaal (subtalair)

2. Met de voet op de grond: naar voor brengen van het been
3. Bij het gaan wordt deze spier sterk aangesproken
uitzicht
= spoelvormige spierbuik + heeft een vlezige oorsprong met een
insertiepees die verschijnt in het distale 1/3 van het been.
Deze wordt door versterkingen van de fascia (retinacula extensorum)
tegen de tarsus gehouden. Daar is ook een peesschede.
Ze verloopt aan de mediale rand van de voet.
De spier is de meest mediale en ligt vlak tegen de margo anterior van de
tibia. Aan de diepe en laterale zijde ligt de N. fibularis profundus.
