1. Which is the most likely utilitarian option in the multiple choice question
above?

Option D, I wonder who is profiting out of this?

2. Why do you say this? Please state your premises for concluding this explicitly
as we taught you in the section A DARN GOOD ARGUMENT.

In excess of 40 000 juveniles are working in dangerous circumstances in cobalt
mines, with lacking wellbeing hardware and for very little cash, working in these fields
exposes minors to physical abuse, drug abuse, sexual exploitation, and violence.
The juveniles in the mines mainly work autonomously, finding and accumulating
minerals that they then sell to dealers, who ultimately sell the materials to people
looking to build houses, my biggest worry now is: who is benefiting out of the
exploitation of these juveniles that should be at school receiving proper education.
Yes cobalt main is good economic growth and cobalt is a critical raw element utilized
by huge technology firms in the production of rechargeable lithium-ion batteries,
electronic products, and electric vehicles, almost the whole world needs it especially
big companies like Microsoft, apple, etc but we can’t ignore the fact child labour is not
acceptable. Well at least they should take grownups/adults to work there and let the
kids to go to school and get proper education. But still the question stands, who is
profiting out of this?

3. What do you feel about this option?

What do I think about this option? Well I think that whoever that is behind
these juveniles exploitation and whoever that is profiting from this should be
exposed and rightful actions should be taken. This makes me so angry
because these kids are not even getting fair pay they are only paid little
money for so much hard labour, what about the rights and responsibilities of
these kids? These juveniles should be at school getting formal education.
Child labour can never be acceptable in any manner children got rights and
receiving formal education is one of them, they also need to be protected as
they are the future leaders of tomorrow. So in my perspective I say that
whoever that is responsible and profiting from DRC cobalt mines child labour
should be exposed for violating the rights of these juveniles.
