Unit 10
Part 1 Assignment
P1Explain how sociological perspectives are applied to the understanding or health and
social care.
Sociology is the systematic study of human societies, including the study of their interactions. Social
structures, institutions, relationships, and experiences that occur in everyday life. Sociology help us
understand the occurrence and experience of disease and health in society. Meaningful diversity,
like this sociology, also helps us understand people's social organization. There is a difference
between the provision of medical services and access to medical resources. A particular application
of sociology to health and social care, also known as medical sociology, is key differences in this area.
Medical sociology is divided into two parts, and sociology is one of them. Medicine and the Sociology
of Medicine. Sociological studies in medicine include applications Sociological theories and concepts
to better understand health-related issues a more informed public health policy. On the other hand,
include sociological research in medicine through a lens to better understand society, health issues,
medical attitudes, health care organization. This is what causes us to move away from the directly
defined. Approach to a more theory-oriented approach. Difference from study abroad Medicine and
medical school are very important, but hard to tell apart Practical orientation as medical sociologists
are involved in shaping sociology

Durkheim's founding tradition. Weaver. Mary, feminist, anti-racist, postmodernist All scholars

studied functionalism and found the functionalist approach healthy and effective. Medicine is
essential for the functioning of society. Illness can impair performance, so the role in society makes
too many people sick, society works and stability begins to collapse.

In addition, poor medical care can lead to the dysfunction of society as a human being. It is difficult
for sick people to become healthy, and conversely, sick people Healthy people are more likely to get
sick (University of Minnesota Library Press, 2010). Marx developed a Marxist theory that included
the study of medicine and its methods. Marx's theory, which emphasizes political power and
economic control, is about health the system reflects the class structure of society. This is
demonstrated by the management of medical facilities. Stratification of health workers and limited
professional mobility in the health professions. The capitalist economic system and the private
sector are protected and private sector costs are, so those who can afford it in the private sector are
treated better and faster note. This means that rich societies get better health care than rich
societies. We can't afford it, but medical ideologies help maintain class structures and patterns

Explain how sociological perspectives contribute to the understanding of society

In addition to the sociological perspectives applied to social and health services, it also helps us
understand how society is run and represented. Functionalism shows what roles everyone in a
society needs to play in order for society to function well.

However, in reality, some people are unable to work due to factors such as illness, disability and
mental health problems, which means high rates of unemployment and poverty. It's related
Marxism and the gap between rich and poor. Those who cannot work cannot earn an income and
therefore depend on the welfare system into society so that they can still live properly. However,
the divide between rich and Poor people mean that the rich receive better education as well as
better medical care than those who penniless. For example, The rich are able to pay for private
education as well as private healthcare, this means that they can afford to prioritise their education
and receive a more one-to-one learning than those who are unable to afford a private education,
therefore their learning is more effective meaning that they are more likely to succeed during their
education than someone who has not received the one-to-one mentoring. In addition, the rich
affording private health care means that they will receive a more better and quicker medical
attention than those who cannot afford the private health care.

This causes those who are poor to have to wait longer to receive the attention they need, however
many of those who are poor may suffer from illnesses and disabilities as thy cannot work. This
means that those who suffer from an illness and disabilities need more medical attention than what
they are receiving, however they cannot afford to pay for this medical attention meaning that they
are unable to live their life to the best of their capabilities although the rich may not need the
medical attention as much as some of the poorer ones do. Overall, the richer are able to keep
becoming richer whilst being prioritised and receiving more benefits out of society than what the
poor are given.

This means the poorer class in society can never reach the same level as the wealthier side of society
because they never get the same opportunities that the rich can buy their way. Compare the
biomedical model of health with an alternative health model. The biomedical model of health
focuses on eliminating disease through diagnosis and treatment in specific patients. This model
focuses on the individual and uses his central structure analysis to reduce symptoms and physical
signs of illness, focusing primarily on treatment to cure the disease. This model narrowly defines
health by claiming that health is the absence of disease.
