a) Indigenous knowledge

and interaction with the local environment.
b) Knowledge Systems (IKS)
Indigenous Knowledge Systems (IKS) is a comprehensive approach that critically
evaluates the limited integration of cultural-social and academic dimensions in the
field of science and technology education. It aims to challenge the conventional way
of thinking and promote a better understanding of local context.
c) Traditional Knowledge
Traditional Knowledge refers to the cultural inheritance and practices that have been
passed down within indigenous communities from one generation to another. These
knowledge systems are intrinsic to the traditions and heritage of the indigenous
community, and they act as stewards of this knowledge. It encompasses the
knowledge and practices specific to a particular region, indigenous group, or local
community, and is closely tied to their cultural traditions.
d) Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK)
Traditional ecological knowledge is defined as a cumulative body of knowledge,
practice, and belief, evolving by adaptive processes and handed down through
generations by cultural transmission, about the relationship of living beings (including
humans) with one another and with their environment.
e) Traditional Environmental Knowledge.
