Definisie
Dit voorsien in die menslike behoeftes en moet terselfdertyd die omgewing bewaar sodat ons nie net in die
behoeftes van die huidige geslag voorsien nie, maar ook die van die nageslag.
WIE IS DEEL VAN VOLHOUBARE ONTWIKKELING?
• Beleidmakers (regering) en die gemeenskap moet
saamwerk.
Die 3 hoofonderafdelings van volhoubare
ontwikkeling:
• Maatskaplik (gelyke geleenthede en menseregte vir
almal)
• Ekonomies (billike verspreiding van rykdom,
werkskepping)
• Omgewing (bewaring van die omgewing)
ONTWIKKELING IS VOLHOUBAAR AS DIT:
• Lewensvatbaar
• Regverdig en
• Verdraagsaam is
DIE EKONOMIESE SY VAN ONTWIKKELING
• Kan in die behoeftes van mense voorsien
• Nuwe tegnologie
• Landbou na nywerhede
• Verbetering in lewenspeil
• Land se groei in rykdom
• Word gemeet as BBP (bruto binnelandse produk binne die landsgrense)
• BNP (bruto nasionale produk sluit ook buitelands in)
• Beperkings van die BBP - dui nie aan hoe rykdom verdeel word nie.
DIE MAATSKAPLIKE SY VAN ONTWIKKELING
• Fokus op die welstand van mense
• Maatskaplike behoeftes soos skuiling, dienste, opvoeding, gesondheidsorg
• Alle mense moet ‘n menswaardige lewe lei

• Regte hê en aan gemeenskapslewe deelneem
