b) For each situation, indicate the dependent and independent variables.
For the first situation the dependent variable (y) is the labour and the
independent variable (x) is the money paid per hour or the earnings per hour.
For the second situation the dependent variable (y) is Siphokazi’s commission
(15%) and the independent variable (x) is her weekly earnings.
For the third situation the dependent variable (y) is the amount by which
your savings grow and the independent variable (x) is the interest offered by
the bank.
For the fourth situation the dependent variable (y) is the area of a circle and
the independent variable (x) is the radius of a circle.
For the final, situation the dependent variable (y) is the money paid for the
rental of a van (R230 + 4.30 per kilometre) and the independent variable (x) is
the kilometres travelled.
