2.Critically Evaluating the Behaviourist Theory in Classroom Management:
The behaviourist theory, although widely used in the past, has received criticism for
being overly simplistic and limited in its approach to classroom management. While
excluding token economy and assertive classroom strategies, let's look at the general
limitations of the behaviourist theory:
• Ignoring Internal Factors: Behaviorism primarily focuses on observable
behaviours and external stimuli-response relationships. It neglects the role of
internal factors such as emotions, cognitive processes, and individual differences
that can influence behavior.
