Analyze the information in the class summary. What are your learners’ strengths and weaknesses?
Note: Cover all learners. (max. 100 words)

The class summary highlights diverse IELTS strengths and weaknesses. Ana excels in reading and writing, Bilal in listening and reading, but both needs speaking
improvement. Chen is proficient in reading, writing, and speaking, but lacking in listening. Delphine needs overall language skill improvement. Mihai excels in
reading and speaking but lacks in listening and writing. Francesca needs improvement in all skills. The students clearly demonstrate a significant strength in their
reading skills, with most of them attaining a band score of 7.0. Yet, listening, writing, and speaking show relative weaknesses. Specifically, the average band score
for writing stands at 5.8, while both listening and speaking average at 5.75. These scores suggest that listening and speaking are areas that require improvement
within the class.

Which two skills have you chosen to teach in this lesson? Why?
Note: State which part of the exam you will focus on for each skill, e.g., Speaking Part 1. (minimum 150 words)

For this lesson, I've chosen to prioritize two vital IELTS skills: Speaking and Listening. These abilities hold immense significance for effective communication in
both academic and real-life scenarios. Considering the class's identified weaknesses in these aspects, addressing them becomes paramount. By doing so, students
can overcome challenges and elevate their overall language proficiency. It is important to prioritize weaker areas to achieve a balanced performance across all four
skills, as the IELTS final grade is weighted on a combination of all four of the different skills’ band grades. For Speaking, the focus will be on Part 2 of the IELTS
exam. This segment revolves around a given topic where students express extended responses coherently and fluently. Students will learn to organize their thoughts
within the allotted time and deliver engaging speeches. Moreover, the practice will involve honing pronunciation, intonation, and vocabulary use. In the Listening
aspect, we will focus on section 4- a lecture on an environmental topic that resembles the format of the Listening section in the IELTS exam, emphasis will be on
enhancing comprehension skills. Students will encounter diverse accents and familiar topic to simulate real-world scenarios. By targeting these specific areas and
tailoring the lesson to address the class's needs, we aim to bolster their confidence and competence in both Speaking and Listening, fostering a well-rounded
foundation for the IELTS exam and beyond.

Which lesson topic have you chosen? Why? (minimum 100 words)

I've chosen the environment as the topic for this lesson due to its pervasive impact and relevance across the globe. The environment touches everyone's lives, and it's

, an area where shared concerns and perspectives emerge. Discussing environmental issues holds immense importance, as the health of our planet influences every
individual's well-being and future.
Additionally, the environment frequently appears in the IELTS exam, necessitating the acquisition of relevant vocabulary. The speaking section often includes
questions about environmental topics, spanning from pollution and conservation to climate change and sustainable practices. To excel in this section and
communicate effectively, students must possess a diverse range of vocabulary and expressions tailored to environmental discourse.
This lesson will empower learners with a practical understanding of environmental challenges, cultivate positive attitudes toward sustainable actions, and equip
them to engage in discussions about ecological matters. It will enable students to critically evaluate information in an era where environmental concerns are
pervasive in media and online platforms, fostering informed decision-making. Given the escalating importance of addressing climate change and ecological well-
being, this topic holds relevance for the students, emphasizing its pertinence not only in the IELTS exam but also in their future endeavors.
