(1) Tebogo wants to know if she can have a legal abortion. Having regard to the given facts, identify the
two indications for the termination of pregnancy that are most likely applicable to this scenario, and
motivate your choices.

pregnancy that are most likely applicable are as follows:
a) Social Situation: Tebogo wishes to continue her schooling to improve her chances of finding a good
job. If she were to have the baby, she would not be able to continue her education. Her mother is
unemployed and cannot afford to care for the baby. Tebogo's mother's desire to claim a child
support grant also highlights the difficult social circumstances. This situation may fall under the
indication for termination of pregnancy based on the woman's socio-economic situation, as
provided in the Choice on Termination of Pregnancy Act 92 of 1996.
b) Age: Tebogo is 13 years old, and her sexual partner Karabo is 20 years old. The age difference and
her young age may lead to the consideration of the indication for termination of pregnancy based
on the woman's age, as minors might not be physically or emotionally prepared for pregnancy and
