2 ASSESSMENT PLAN
As indicated in tutorial letter LRM4801/101/0/2023 (available under Official Study Material on the myUnisa
module site), this module is offered online and follows a continuous assessment strategy. Based on this
assessment strategy, you will not be required to write a final summative examination; however, the marks
obtained for the Assessments that you submit will contribute towards your final mark for this module. Each
of the Assessments contributes a specific percentage, which is indicated as a weight, toward your final mark.
This Assessment is one of 13 assessment opportunities for this module, which is grouped into five groups of
Assessments (please refer to the LRM4801 welcome page for more information on this). This Assessment is
the second Assessment of the group 3 Assessments. All the Assessments in this group are mandatory and
not elective, therefore, should you fail to submit this Assessment, you will forfeit 14% of your final mark for
this module.
3 FORMAT OF THE ASSESSMENT
Assessment 08 assesses the learning outcomes of Lessons 05 and 06 and the subject-matter covered in
these lessons. Ensure that you have worked through these lessons thoroughly before attempting the
Assessment. This Assessment is a written Assessment comprising five questions (100 marks) that relate
to a specific case study.
Please refer to Appendix A of this document for the Assessment questions.
4 ASSESSMENT DUE DATE
Assessment 08 will be available on the myUnisa module site from 09:00 on 07 August 2023 and it is due
before 23:00 on 04 September 2023.
There is no restriction on the time that you may spend on completing the Assessment. You must, however,
submit your Assessment on or before the stipulated due date and time. The system will close after this date
and time after which no further submissions will be possible.
Please note, however, that there may be circumstances that require Unisa management to allow for the
extension of the due date of Assessments. This will only happen in exceptional circumstances and should
not be the general expectation. In case of an extension of Assessment submission dates, the amended dates
will be communicated to you on the myUnisa module site. Therefore, please note that, except for a
management decision to extend the due dates, NO EXTENSION OF ASSESSMENT SUBMISSION DUE
DATES will be granted by the lecturer. The onus is therefore on you to ensure that you submit the
Assessment on time. Make provision for system downtime or times when the system might be slow due to
, Assessment 08 LRM4801
large numbers of students accessing the system. Therefore, when planning your activities, rather aim to
submit the Assessment a day or two before the due date.
5 TECHNICAL PRESENTATION
There are specific requirements regarding the layout and technical presentation of your Assessment, that
you must comply with. These requirements are summarised in Appendix B, Section 2 in Tutorial Letter
HRMALL6/301/4/2023. This tutorial letter is available in the Tutorial Letters folder under Additional
Resources on the myUnisa module site. Please ensure that you familiarise yourself with these guidelines
before you attempt the Assessment.
