Case Details: A woman named Mary Jones was found dead at 270 Leek road, Stoke on Trent,
Staffordshire, ST4 2DF. Coroner estimated the time of death to be between 8 PM and 10 PM on
19/03/2023 based on the temperature of the victim’s liver. The cause of death was determined to
be blunt force trauma to the head. The body was first discovered at 11:09 PM by the boyfriend of
Mary Jones, James Smith.

The ink was tested by using TLC to determine which of the pens were used to write and who was
responsible for the crime and to make comparison of the inks from the letter that was present in the
crime scene. 3 black marker pens were used to test the similarity of the original ink from the crime
scene.
