1.1 Research approach

I will use a mixed research approach. This is because the mixed research
approach goes beyond the scope of the two distinct approaches namely
qualitative and quantitative. It essentially integrates enumerative values with
verbal judgements that capture the underlying opinions and perceptions behind
numeric figures. It is therefore ana enhanced approach that allows the research
to make numeric analysis that is supported by opinions to get both hard evidence
with figurative backing and in-depth understanding of the phenomenon from
value judgements.



1.2 Sampling

I will use quota sampling. Although this is a non-probabilistic sampling approach,
it ensures some balance in participants selection. A sample of 50 participants will
be selected in such a way that all characteristics in the population will be
included with respect to their relative portions in the entire population. I will first
consider all characteristics of the target population, that is by race, age, gender
and status such that blacks, whites, coloureds and Indians; people in various age
groups; males and females; employees and students will all be selected
according to their relative proportion in the entire population.



1.3 Data collection



Questionnaires will be used to capture numeric data. However, this will be
administered through groups. These groups will also form the focus groups. That
the researcher will use in the follow up verbal engagement. The focus groups are
chosen as they encourage participants to participate. The researcher will get
common perceptions from focus groups, which even reduce the chances of non-
responding or getting insufficient responses which is highly likely should
