Proloog - Reboot
Dis ses maande sedert Xander sy pa met ‘n 9mm pistool in die studeerkamer gevind het. Hy het
nie geweet dat hulle ‘n pistool in die huis gehad het nie. Sy pa het gesê dat Xander dit ‘n geheim
moet hou.
Xander is nou twaalf. Hy was elf toe hy sy pa se
selfmoord poging gesien het. Twee ooms het by
die huis aangekom en Xander moet sy pa roep
om hulle te groet. Hulle lyk nie soos sy pa se
gewone besoekers nie: hulle dra denimbroeke
en t-hemde in plaas van varsgepersde hemde en
pakke. Eers wil sy pa nie die mans gaan groet
nie omdat hy besig is, maar wanneer hy hoor dat
die mans deur “Dok” gestuur was, sê hy dat Xander iewers moet wegkruip en ‘n slim seun wees.
Sy pa sê dat hy vir hom lief is en gaan na die mans toe. Xander hoor ‘n vrou gil - seker sy ma - en
hoor vuishoue. Xander is doodbang.
Prologue - Reboot
It’s six months since Xander found his dad in the study with a 9mm pistol. He didn’t know that
they had a gun in the house. His dad told Xander to keep it a secret.
Xander is twelve now. He was eleven when he saw
his dad’s suicide attempt. Two men came to the
house and Xander went to call his dad to greet them.
They don’t look like his dad’s usual visitors: they
wear jeans and t-shirts instead of freshly pressed
shirts and suits. At first, his dad doesn’t want to
greet the men because he’s busy, but when he hears
that the men were sent by “Doc”, he tells Xander to hide somewhere and be a clever boy. He
says that he loves Xander and goes to meet the men. Xander hears a woman’s scream - likely
his mom’s - and hears punches. Xander is very scared.

het alles gehou nes toe John lewendig was. John het van ekstreme sport gehou en Greg altyd
saamgesleep. John het ‘n paar jaar gelede slfmoord gepleeg deur om pille te drink. Greg se ma
kom ook na John se kamer toe. Sy lyk moeg. Sy dink diep en vertel vir Greg dat wanneer sy
alleen by die huis was nadat John dood was het sy net geskree en geskree. Greg is bekommerd
