One day is one day


- William het nie meer geld nie, so dit is sy laaste keer dat hy die bus neem.
Hy is 'n rugbyspeler in die 1e span.

- Willem en Sias is vriende.
Sias is 'n pleegkind, maar sy pa gebruik sy pleegtoelaag vir sigarette en alkohol,
so Sias steel die geld.

- Sy oupa het altyd vir hom gesê: "Maak jou skoene skoon sodat mense kan sien
wat in jou kop aangaan." Sias sê vir Willem hy praat soos 'n "whitey" al is hy
eintlik 'n township boy.

- Willem se ma het siek geword en gesterf sodat hy saam met sy ouma en oupa
grootgeword het.

- Sias gaan na die slegste skool (Opdraend), maar William gaan na die beste.

- William voel op sy gemak wanneer hy huis toe gaan om sy oupa te sien nadat
Sias hom so 'n moeilike tyd gegee het om na 'n spoggerige skool te gaan. Sy
kamer word deur 'n gordyn van die huis geskei.

- Sy oupa vra is Sias gaan selfs skool toe en waarsku Willem om nie in die
verkeerde skare rond te hang nie, want Sias is ongemotiveerd en lui.

- William wil sy gesin in 'n baksteenhuis bou. Hy wil sy rooi motor in sy motorhuis
parkeer en deur 'n deur van die motorhuis na die huis kan stap. Sy droom is nou
om op die rugbytoer te gaan, maar hy verstaan sy grootouers kan dit nie
bekostig nie.

- Sy beste vriend Henk het hom nie van 'n rugbybyeenkoms vertel nie, so William
het in die moeilikheid beland. Henk se ma reël die toer, sy wil die toer borg
sodat Henk gekies word.

- Hy moet na 'n kliniek gaan om uit te vind wat sy status is...

- Die grootouers praat nie oor hoe sy ma gesterf het nie. Woon in Skynsdorp. Die
het hom 'n belofte gemaak dat hulle hard sal werk om hom na die beste skool te

, stuur nadat hy daarheen verhuis het. Die ouma sal by mense se huise werk en
die oupa sal skoene herstel.

- Hy blaas kers uit nadat hy vir sy wiskundetoets studeer het, maar hy kan nie
slaap as hy aan "whitey", sy status, rugbytoer en Henk se ma dink nie.

- Op pad skool toe die volgende dag sien Sias hom en sê vir hom om klub 20 toe
te kom omdat hy afkyk. Sias is 'n slegte invloed, maar die stem in Willem se kop
wonder of hy dalk moet gaan.

- Sias moedig hom aan deur vir hom te sê daar is 'n danskompetisie waar hy geld
kan wen. William konfronteer Henk, maar hy word ontslaan.

- William het gehoor dat die hele rugbyspan Spur toe is vir spanbou, maar hy is
nie genooi nie. Hy dink dis omdat hy nie die deposito betaal het nie. Hy is vol
selftwyfel.

- Hy gaan kliniek toe en kom dan huis toe en gaan sit op sy bed en voel
klaustrofobies. Hy besluit om na die klub te gaan.
