Every thermometer has a resolution of 0.1 with the exception of the glass thermometer, which has a

that the other thermometers have a far higher resolution, we should use one of the other
thermometers in order to get a more accurate reading.
In the lower temperatures, the thermometer made of glass was noticeably more accurate than the
others. Although the others were off by a few degrees, the glass alcohol thermometer read exactly
0. Having said that, considering that its resolution is just 1, it's possible that this is still not the case.
When the temperatures were higher, the digital probe provided the most accurate readings. As a
result of everything being computer-programmed, it is also the most accurate method because there
is no potential for error to be introduced by human intervention.
The resolution of each thermometer was different. The resolution of the infrared, digital probe, and
meat thermometers was 0.1 °C, compared to 1 °C for the alcohol thermometer. The best and most
accurate thermometer can then be chosen by comparing the calibration findings to the boiling
(100°C) and freezing (0°C) points of water. We discovered that the alcohol thermometer, which
precisely reads 0°C, is the most accurate thermometer to use when reading ice water. Infrared
thermometers are the least accurate for measuring ice water. Although this is to be expected as
infrared thermometers are normally only designed to monitor the temperature of solids and not
liquids, infrared thermometers are also the least accurate to use when reading the temperature in
boiling water (reading was 62.0°C). A digital probe thermometer works best for measuring the
temperature of boiling water since it reads 100.4 °C, but it is less precise for reading the
temperature of ice water because it reads 3.3 °C. The temperature was overestimated by the alcohol
thermometer by 2 °C (reading: 102.0 °C). This also occurred with the meat thermometer, however it
only misread the temperature by 0.8°C, making it more accurate than both. The meat thermometer
also misread the temperature of the ice water by 2.5°C. In conclusion, a digital probe works best for
measuring the temperature of boiling water, and an alcohol thermometer works best for measuring
the temperature of ice water.
