INSTRUCTIONS
• This is a closed book examination.
• This paper comprises SEVEN (7) questions.
• All the questions are compulsory.
• Number all your answers clearly in your examination script.
• The marks allocated to each question will assist you in deciding how to approach the question.
• Ensure that you complete the honesty declaration form and include it in your examination answer script.
• Please log into The Invigilator App. You need to be connected to the internet in order to log in and scan the
QR code.
• Scan the QR code above as soon as you have downloaded your question paper during the 15-minute
download window. Please take note that you can only scan the QR code for a limited time and it should
therefore be scanned as soon as possible to start the invigilation.

• If you encounter difficulty with scanning of the QR code you can also enter the QR access code at the bottom
of the QR code in order to start the assessment.
• Once the QR code is scanned, you can place your smartphone next to you. The Invigilator App will notify you
when an action is required. Ensure your media volume is turned up.
• If you only have one device you may access your assessment in the application by pressing the ‘Access
Exam’ button in the top right corner of your app.
• Please remember to keep your smartphone on charge for the duration of the assessment.
• Keep The Invigilator app open on your cell phone during the assessment. You are not allowed to leave or
minimise the application.
• When an action is required, a notification beep will be heard. Action the request.
• Please ensure you are connected to the internet in order to commence the examination as well as at the end
of the examination. No internet connection is needed during the assessment.
• It is important to first upload your script to the MyExams. Uploading of app data is not time sensitive and you
can do it after you have uploaded your script to the MyExams.
• It is important to note that you have to adhere to the time limit in your MyExams assessment as the invigilation
time in the app could exceed the time allocated to complete your assessment.
• You can click the "Finish Assessment" button in the app if you finish early.
• Should you encounter any technical difficulty, please WhatsApp The Invigilator Helpdesk on 073 505 8273.
• Students must upload their answer scripts in a single PDF file on the official myExams platform (answer
scripts must not be password protected or uploaded as “read-only” files).
• NO e-mailed scripts will be accepted.
• Students are advised to preview submissions (answer scripts) to ensure legibility and that the correct answer
script file has been uploaded.
• Students are permitted to resubmit their answer scripts should their initial submission be unsatisfactory only
within the prescribed timeframe of three (3) hours.
• Incorrect file format and uncollated answer scripts will not be considered.
• Incorrect answer scripts and/or submissions made on unofficial examination platforms (including the
invigilator cellphone application) will not be marked and no opportunity will be granted for resubmission.
• A mark awarded for an incomplete submission will be the student’s final mark. No opportunity for
resubmission will be granted.
• A mark awarded for illegible scanned submission will be the student’s final mark. No opportunity for
resubmission will be granted.
• Only the last file uploaded and submitted will be marked.
• Submissions will only be accepted from registered student accounts.
• Students who have not utilised invigilation or proctoring tools will be deemed to have transgressed Unisa’s
examination rules and will have their marks withheld.
• Students have 48 hours from the day of their examination to upload their invigilator results from the Invigilator
App. Failure to do so will result in students deemed not to have utilised invigilation or proctoring tools.
• Students must complete the online declaration of their work when submitting. Students suspected of
dishonest conduct during the examinations will be subjected to disciplinary processes. Students may not
communicate with other students or request assistance from other students during examinations. Plagiarism
is a violation of academic integrity, and students who do plagiarise or copy verbatim from published work will
be in violation of the Policy on Academic Integrity and the Student Disciplinary Code and may be referred to
a disciplinary hearing. Unisa has zero tolerance for plagiarism and/or any other forms of academic dishonesty.
• Students are provided 30 minutes to submit their answer scripts after the official examination time.
Students who experience technical challenges should immediately email CEDUExams@unisa.ac.za report
to the SCSC on 080 000 1870 or their College exam support centers (refer to the Get help during the
examinations by contacting the Student Communication Service Centre (unisa.ac.za)) and within 30 minutes.

Queries received after one hour of the official examination duration time will not be responded to.
Submissions made after the official examination time will be rejected by the examination regulations and will
not be marked.
• Non-adherence to the processes for uploading examination responses will not qualify the student for any
special concessions or future assessments.
• Queries that are beyond Unisa’s control include the following:
a. Personal network or service provider issues
b. Load shedding
c. Crashed computer
d. Using work computers that block access to myExams site (work firewall challenges)
e. Unlicensed software (e.g., license expires during exams)
• Postgraduate students experiencing the above challenges are advised to apply for an aegrotat and submit
supporting evidence within ten days of the examination session. Students will not be able to apply for an
aegrotat for a third examination opportunity. Postgraduate/Undergraduate students experiencing the above
challenges in their second examination opportunity will have to reregister for the affected module.
