2 PURPOSE AND OUTCOMES
2.1 Purpose
The ISR3701 module goal is to provide students with the competencies (knowledge, values, and abilities)
needed to apply core ideas, principles, and procedures in delivering risk finance, insurance products, and
services.
2.2 Outcomes
For this module, you will have to master several outcomes:
✓ Specific outcome 1: Identify and access the insurance mechanism and non-life insurance
market players.
✓ Specific outcome 2: Apply the necessary steps and procedures in underwriting, renewal and
reinsuring of non-life policies.
✓ Specific outcome 3: Apply the steps and formalities in the finalisation of non-life insurance
claims.
✓ Specific outcome 4: Analyse the implications of non-life insurance-related legislation and
compulsory insurance.
✓ Specific outcome 5: Compile a report on available non-life insurance policies.
✓ Specific outcome 6: Identify risk exposures.
✓ Specific outcome 7: Evaluate the various risk exposures.
✓ Specific outcome 8: Recommend the proper treatment of risk, being the risk control or transfer.
✓ Specific outcome 9: Report on available alternative risk transfer (ART).
✓ Specific outcome 10: Evaluate the merits of the various alternative risk transfers (ARTs).
