HOOFDSTUK 12 §1 EIGENSCHAPPEN DOORGEVENHet gen voor oogkleur bestaat uit meerdere varianten, onder andere de allelen voor bruin en blauw.
In de lichaamscellen van beide ouders zitten 2 chromosomen met allelen voor oogkleur. De moeder
geeft via haar eicel (1 chromosoom) met een allel voor oogkleur door en de vader via zijn zaadcel.
Het genotype voor een eigenschap bestaat steeds uit twee allelen.
Als de moeder en vader elk 2 gelijke allelen hebben, heet dat homozygoot. Als 2 allelen verschillend
zijn, noem je dat heterozygoot.
Het overheersende allel heet dominant, het onderdrukte allel noem je recessief.
Om de genotypen kort en overzichtelijk op
te schrijven, gebruik je letters.
- Dominante allelen geef je aan met
een hoofdletter.
- Recessieve allelen geeft je aan met
een kleine letter.
Voor elke eigengenschap heb je 2 allelen.
Een code van een genotype bestaat daarom
uit 2 letters.
- BB betekent homozygoot dominant
- Bb betekend heterozygoot
- bb betekent homozygoot recessief
