Instructions:
Planning a Vacation Budget

Information:

Imagine that you have won R100 000 that you must use to spend on a vacation. You and a
friend will be travelling together and you must plan the expences of your trip without exceeding
the amount of R100 000. Choose one of the destinations mentioned in the reading text provided
and make use of the websites provided to plan a rough budget for your trip.

Things to consider:

1. Decide where you want to go on vacation.

2. Estimate the travel costs that you need to consider (plane tickets, car rentals, fuel, public
transport costs).

3. Include costs for accommodation.

4. Work out how much money you will need for meals per day.

5. If your total is over R100 000, reduce your costs and if it is under make sure that it is close
to the given amount.

6. You do not need to include souvenir costs.

7. Keep in mind that costs must be calculated for a round trip.

8. You may go on vacation for as long as you like, just so long you do not exceed the prize
money amount.

9. Fill in your costs on the worksheet provided.

10. Remember to fill in the total cost of your vacation.

11. Remember to make use of websites provided to gather your information.
