1.1 Explanation of Neo's Condition and Contributing Factors:
Neo's condition, characterized by a bloated stomach, dry and scaly skin, frequent illness,
fatigue, and decayed teeth, suggests that he may be suffering from malnutrition.
Malnutrition occurs when the body does not receive adequate nutrients to maintain
proper health and function. Several factors could be contributing to Neo's condition,
including:
1. Poverty and Unemployment: Neo's family background of poverty and unemployment
likely limits their access to nutritious food and healthcare resources. Without a stable
income, they may struggle to afford sufficient quantities of food or prioritize other basic
needs over nutrition.
2. Limited Access to Nutritious Food: Living in a low-income household may mean that
Neo's family has limited access to fresh fruits, vegetables, and other nutrient-rich foods.
Instead, they may rely on cheaper, processed foods that are high in calories but low in
essential nutrients.
3. Poor Dietary Choices: Even if Neo's family has access to food, they may lack knowledge
about proper nutrition or may prioritize convenience and affordability over nutritional
value. This can lead to a diet that is deficient in essential vitamins, minerals, and
macronutrients needed for growth and overall health.
