Introduction
The use of proverbs, idioms, and riddles is a common practice in many African cultures,
serving as a means of imparting wisdom, reinforcing cultural values, and promoting
linguistic creativity. In this work, we explore the role of these traditional forms of
communication in African societies, particularly in educating children about social and
moral norms. We also delve into the significance of these cultural expressions in
shaping attitudes and behaviors within the community. Through the exploration of
specific proverbs, idioms, and riddles, we aim to highlight the cultural richness and
educational value embedded within these linguistic traditions. Additionally, we will
examine how these forms of communication contribute to the preservation of spoken
language and the promotion of critical thinking and creativity among individuals in
African cultures.

Task 1
a) During my communication with a person of a different cultural background, I
experienced difficulty due to language barriers. I was in a situation where I needed to
communicate with a non-English speaking individual who was of a different cultural and
racial background. As I attempted to converse with this person, I quickly realized that
we were having trouble understanding each other. I was struggling to comprehend what
the person was trying to convey, and it became apparent that they were facing the
same issue in understanding me.
