Assignment 4 Semester 1 2024
Unique Number: 238276
Due Date: 24 May 2024
QUESTION 1
Initially, safety laws were established to address injuries and their repercussions. The Code of
Hammurabi, written many centuries ago, contained clauses for dealing with injuries and fees
for physicians and financial damages against people who harmed others. This approach was
punitive and based on the 'an eye for an eye' principle. However, as the industrial revolution
progressed, there was a growing need to establish laws and regulations to protect workers from
hazardous working conditions.
