 Pattern blocks introduce Grade R learners to mathematical concepts like
symmetry, sorting, counting, patterns, tessellation and so much more.
These blocks also introduce them to 2D shapes.
 2D shapes can be created by cutting paper of different textures or
other materials(buttons, popcorn seeds) and creating a shape collage.
 Matchsticks or popsicle sticks can also be used to create 2D shapes. They
also introduce the learner to sorting, counting, symmetry and many more.
