Due Date: 2024
QUESTION 1
1.1.
Pre-Linguistic Stage
Crying:
From birth, infants begin to communicate through crying. This is a reflexive behavior used to
express discomfort, hunger, or other needs. While not a form of language, crying is a crucial
step in developing the ability to communicate.
Gurgling and Cooing:
Around 2-3 months, infants start producing cooing and gurgling sounds. These are soft,
repetitive vowel sounds like "oo" and "aa." This stage indicates the beginning of vocal
experimentation and the development of control over vocal cords.
