Detailed Solutions, References & Explanations
Unique number: 752218
Due date: 12 August 2024
Introduction
Farm attacks in South Africa, particularly in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands, have become a
significant area of concern, prompting urgent calls for comprehensive research to
understand their nature and underlying causes. As part of a team from the UNISA
Department of Criminology and Security Science, we are tasked with conducting a
qualitative research study with community members to delve into these critical issues.
Given the sensitive nature of the topic, the potential risks involved, and the vulnerability
of the participants, it is paramount that the research is conducted ethically. This essay will
discuss the ethical considerations that will guide the research process, with a focus on
the purpose of research ethics, the ethical principles that must be adhered to, and the
specific guidelines for human protection in qualitative research.
