1.1 Difference Between Real and Non-Real Numbers
Real Numbers: Real numbers are numbers that you can find on a number line. These
include all the numbers you use in everyday life, such as counting, measuring, and
calculating. Real numbers can be positive, negative, or zero, and they can be whole
numbers, fractions, or decimals.
• Examples of Real Numbers:
1. 5 (a whole number)
2. -3.7 (a negative decimal)
Non-Real Numbers: Non-real numbers, also known as imaginary numbers, are numbers
that are not found on the standard number line. These numbers involve the square root
of a negative number, which doesn’t have a real value
