(i) Process Groups in Each Phase of the Project Life Cycle
Initiation Phase:
Develop Project Charter: This involves formally authorizing the project and
defining its initial scope, purpose, and objectives. The project charter also
identifies key stakeholders and assigns a project manager.
Identify Stakeholders: Involves determining all stakeholders affected by the
project and documenting their interests, involvement, and potential impact on
project success.
Planning Phase:
Develop Project Management Plan: This comprehensive document includes
all the plans required to manage the project, such as scope, schedule, cost,
quality, resource, communication, risk, and procurement plans.
Define Scope, Schedule, and Budget: Establish the project's scope, create a
detailed work breakdown structure (WBS), develop the schedule, and
estimate costs.
Execution Phase:
Direct and Manage Project Work: Involves leading the team to complete the
project deliverables and meet objectives. This includes coordinating people
and resources, managing stakeholder expectations, and performing quality
assurance.
Manage Stakeholder Engagement: Ensuring active engagement of
stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle by communicating and managing
their expectations.
Monitoring and Controlling Phase:
Monitor and Control Project Work: Regularly tracking, reviewing, and reporting
the project's progress to ensure it stays aligned with the project management
plan.
Perform Integrated Change Control: Managing changes to the project scope,
schedule, and costs, while ensuring that only approved changes are
implemented.
