Blog Post 1 - Finding My Nearest Recycling Drop-Off Point
I’ve always been somewhat aware of the importance of recycling, but like a lot of
people, I never really gave it as much attention as it deserves. Today, I decided to start
with glass recycling, since that’s one of the most common things I find in my house—
bottles from sauces, drinks, and jars. To begin, I followed the instructions to locate the
nearest glass recycling drop-off point using the ‘Find a Glass Bank’ tool, which was
surprisingly easy!
After entering my area details, I found that the closest drop-off point for glass is located
at [insert specific location], just a short [mention distance] from my home. I was happy to
see that it's pretty close, and it won’t take more than [insert time, e.g. “10 minutes by
car” or “a 15-minute walk”]. That definitely makes it convenient for me to recycle
regularly.
In terms of GPS, it’s located at [insert coordinates or specific address], which made it
easy to find on the map. Luckily, I didn’t experience any major difficulties locating it,
although I noticed that there aren't as many recycling drop-off points in more rural
areas, which could be challenging for people living farther away.
Knowing that the recycling center is so close already makes me feel like I could be
doing more. I’m now planning to increase the amount of recycling I do, especially with
glass, but I’ll likely extend this to plastics and paper as well. The ease of access just
took away my excuse of “I don't have the time” or “It's too far.” Now that I’ve found this
drop-off point, I’m definitely more committed to recycling regularly.
