, QUESTION 1
Technology integration in teaching offers a dynamic approach to developing
essential skills such as research, collaboration, communication, critical thinking,
and problem-solving. By effectively using digital tools, teachers can enhance the
learning experience and equip students with skills that are crucial for lifelong
learning. Below is a discussion on how technology can be integrated into teaching
to develop each of these skills.
1.1.1 Research (4)
To develop research skills, I will integrate technology by incorporating digital
resources such as online databases, academic journals, and search engines into
assignments and classroom activities. Students will be taught how to use these
tools to locate reliable information, evaluate sources for credibility, and synthesize
data from multiple perspectives. For instance, I will use Google Scholar, JSTOR,
and other educational platforms to guide students in conducting research for
projects and presentations. Additionally, incorporating citation tools such as Zotero
or Mendeley will help students manage references and understand the importance
of academic integrity. These practices will enable students to independently
explore topics, enhancing their ability to conduct thorough and credible research.
1.1.2 Collaboration (4)
To foster collaboration, I will utilize technology tools such as Google Workspace
(Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides), Microsoft Teams, and collaborative platforms
like Padlet and Trello. These tools allow students to work together on group
projects in real-time, regardless of their physical location. I will design assignments
that require students to collaborate on shared documents, brainstorm ideas, divide
tasks, and provide feedback to each other. For example, using Google Docs,
students can collectively draft essays or create presentations while using the chat
and comment features to communicate and make adjustments. This approach not
only builds teamwork but also helps students learn how to manage collaborative
work and resolve conflicts, preparing them for future professional environments.
