Write a literature review of 2500 words, in which you engage global, continental, and
local literature looking into how the issue of discipline could be addressed in our
schools. Your literature review, should consider the following:
• The structure of the literature review: o Introduction (150 words) Purpose of the
review: Explain why the topic is important and the objective of the review. Scope:
Define the scope and limitations of the review. Research questions: Outline the
specific research question(s) you aim to address.
Body of the literature review (2000 words) Group the literature into themes or
categories. In the case of this assignment, this should be divided into global,
continental, and local literature debates on the origins, causes, effects and solutions to
issues of discipline in schools. NB: It is very important that you make links between the
various debates. In your discussions, make sure that you also evaluate strengths and
weaknesses in the global, continental, and local debates. Also identify the gaps that
