Human Resource Management for Line Managers
QUESTION 1
1.1 Feedback on the Job Satisfaction Survey
1.1.1 Interpretation of Findings
The survey results indicate significant dissatisfaction among employees in the Cape
Town plant across various categories;
The job itself
With only 40% of employees satisfied, it’s clear that the nature of the work may
not be engaging or fulfilling for the majority. Possible reasons could include
monotonous tasks, lack of autonomy, or insufficient resources to complete tasks
efficiently.
Relationships with co-workers
A relatively balanced split with 49% satisfaction suggests that interpersonal
relationships in the workplace are an issue for a substantial portion of the
workforce. Factors like poor communication, unresolved conflicts, or a lack of
team cohesion could be contributing to this.
Immediate supervisor
Only 45% are satisfied with their supervisor. This points to possible leadership
issues such as ineffective communication, lack of support or feedback, or
inconsistent managerial decisions.
