MNO2603 ASSESSMENT 3 2024

UNIVERSITY ASSESSMENTS

MNO2603

Safety Management IIA

ASSESSMENT 3

Due date: 10 September 2024

60 Marks

This assessment consists of twelve (12) pages.

Instructions:

1) The aim of this assessment is to test your knowledge on the key learning outcomes of this
module.

2) You need to answer all the questions.

3) Assessments may be typed using Arial font size 12, line spacing at least 1,15 or 1,5.

4) Although it is strongly suggested that you type your responses to this assessment, you may
submit handwritten assessments. Please write legibly so that it is possible to read your
assessment answers. Scan all the pages into one consolidated PDF document and submit it
online.

5) Save your answer file as “MNO2603_Assessment_3_Studentnumber_Surname”.

6) Only PDF format submissions are accepted on the submissions portal. Ensure that only one
consolidated document is uploaded as the system only accepts one document and not
individual page submissions.

7) All submissions should be clear and legible. Ensure that scanned documents are not blurred.

8) Ensure that you submit the correct assessment. Check to see that you attach your answers
to this assessment and not the question paper, a past assessment, an assessment from another
module, or any other documents in error.

9) Ensure that your assessment is submitted by checking your submission status.

10) You are not required to answer your assessment using this template. Should you elect to type
your own assessment or to submit a handwritten submission please ensure that you number
your answers correctly.

11) It is important to include in-text citations and a list of references as part of the assessment, even
if you use the study guide and prescribed textbook. Each additional source that you may be
required to consult, should also be referenced. Each question therefore needs to be referenced
with the question. For example, provide the source for Question 1 with question 1 and so forth.
You will be required to add this to your reference list at the end of your assessment. Note that
2 marks will be deducted per question that has not been duly cited.

12) Referencing should be done according to the Harvard referencing method. An example of the
Harvard Referencing method is included in the Additional Resources folder on myUnisa. Failure
to submit a reference list with this assessment will result in a deduction of 5 marks.

13) Do not copy directly from any source (including your study guide) as Unisa’s plagiarism policy
is applicable to this assessment. Plagiarism will not be allowed and may result in
disciplinary action if detected.

14) The use of AI/ChatGPT is not permitted to complete this assessment.

15) Take note of the mark allocation for each question. This will give you an indication of the number
of facts that should be discussed. Make sure that each question and sub-questions are clearly
numbered.

16) The assessments will be returned to you online once marked and finalised and the assignments
department will inform you of your results.

17) Please ensure that you have submitted a signed declaration.

18) Please ensure that your PDF document is NOT encrypted to a “secured” mode or password
protected or infected by any virus. Any documents that cannot be opened by markers will not
be marked.

19) Only assessments submitted online will be accepted. You need to submit your answer file
online via myUnisa. Paper-based, e-mailed or posted documents WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
Ensure that you keep a copy of the document that you submitted AND keep your proof of
submission via myUnisa. Your lecturer may not accept any emailed assessments.
