This (English) exam paper consists of 11 pages (Addendum A and B included).
Instructions:
(i) Scan or enter the QR-code (a2614b7c) before you start the exam. See page 2.
(ii) For those students who registered for the Afrikaans version of the module (Oorredende Tekste), the
Afrikaans exam paper follows the English exam paper (on page 12).
(iii) You are allowed to access your study material. You are however not allowed to copy verbatim from
your study material. You should provide answers in your own words. In the case of any cheating or
plagiarism no marks will be allocated.
(iv) Please answer ALL the questions.
(v) This paper includes an Addendum A with texts (Text 1, 2, and 3 from pages 7 to 10) which are referred
to in the questions.
(vi) The exam paper can be downloaded on Tuesday, 11 June 2024 from 07:45 and the answer file should
be uploaded by 12:00 on Tuesday, 11 June 2024. The exam duration is 4 hours. Should you
complete your exam before the exam session closes, please commence with the uploading of your
exam answer file; you do not have to wait for the session to conclude.
(vii) You are permitted to resubmit your answer script three times should your initial submission be
unsatisfactory.
(viii) The exam answers could be typed or hand-written. We would prefer that you type your exam answers
and then upload your exam answer file as a PDF document on the myExam platform. Please do
not upload your examination file on the invigilator cell phone application. It will not be marked,
and no opportunity will be granted for resubmission.
(ix) The answered exam file must be uploaded as a PDF document. Do not password-protect your PDF
file.
(x) See Addendum B (page 11) at the end of the (English) exam paper on how to upload your exam answer
file on myExams.
(xi) The system will close on 11 June 2024 at 12:00 (South African time) and all late submissions will be
rejected. NO LATE EXAM ANSWER FILES WILL BE ACCEPTED.
(xii) Assessments invigilated by the Invigilator App require a student to activate the QR code. The QR code
is available for activation 15 minutes before the start time of the examination and 30 minutes after
the official start time of the examination. Students who fail to activate the QR code within the
available 45 minutes will be deemed not to have utilised the invigilation or proctoring tools and
will have their final marks withheld.
(xiii) If you do not utilised invigilation or proctoring tools, you will be subjected to disciplinary processes.
(xiv) If you are suspected of dishonest conduct during the examinations, you will be subjected to
disciplinary processes.
