The early 20ᵗʰ century saw some progress with suffrages
in the 1920s who fought for women's right to vote
The Womens Bureau of the Department of Labour was
formed to advocate for changes they felt were necessary
about the situation of women at work Many women began
lobbying for legislation to protect women workers from
abuse unsafe conditions Unfortunately societal expectations
continued to confine women to domestic roles emphasising
marriage motherhood as primary responsibilities
After wall women were marginalised and those who had
taken jobs in wartime economy were expected to return to
traditional roles
By the 1960s fueled by the growing civil rights movement
