Die gedig bestaan uit 3 strofes. Elke strofe bestaan uit vier versreëls = kwatryne.
In die eerste twee strofes vertel hy Klara se storie en in die laaste strofe pas hy
haar lewe op syne toe, amper soos wat in ʼn sonnet gebruiklik is. („ʼn Sonnet moet
egter 14 reëls hê en hierdie een het net 12 !)

quatrains. In the first two stanzas he tells Klara's story and in the last stanza he
applies her life to his, almost as is customary in a sonnet. ("A sonnet, however,
