 Sampling unit: object being measured, counted or observed.
 Population: is the collection of all possible data values that exist for the random variable
under study.
 Sample statistic: is a measure that describes a characteristic of a sample.
 Descriptive stats: data that is summarized into descriptive measures. - user can see
patterns, trends and relationships within the data.
 Inferential stats: Generalizes sample findings to the broader population.


 Qualitative (categorical): non nrs, eg, gender, employees highest qualification.
 Quantitative (numeric): real nrs. Eg, age, price, delivery distance.
 Discrete data: whole nr/integer. Eg, nr of students in a class.
 Continuous data: any number that can occur in an interval. Eg, customers weight:
