CAPTAIN AMERICA - Film StudyTIME STAMPS:
Movie Intro/Entrance:
- Creates Mystery! (hissing sound and low visibility). Also creates Mystery because the men were referring
to it as a ‘it’ and they don’t know what it is. Time: 1:47 - long shot. This long shot shows us how big ‘it’
is.
- Zooming in on the shield (military men)
- Steve Rogers has been established as a legendary person - because the men say ‘we need to warn them
immediately’ when they find the shield in the snow. Evolution of a superhero!
Middle:
→ 3:40 - Black screen
→ 3:48 - Long shot (pathetic fallacy!)
→ 4:30 - theme of ‘power’ (really big car; brutal police)
→ 4:34 - Zoom in
→ 4:40 - close up of shoes! They’re incredibly shiny. Emphasizing the importance of the person.
→ 4:56 - Long shot, becomes slightly low angle. The villain is portrayed as ‘higher’ than everyone else. The
way he is standing - dominance and confidence. The icy blue colour adds to the dominance.

→ Started with the Villain so that public can expect a strong hero.
