- Xander Gericke is a hacker
o His dad is dead
o In Onderwêreld he was called “echo”

Reboot – Memeory Chapter
• This chapter is seen as the Prologue of the story
• Reboot means that all programmes on the computer should be closed and
then opened again
• This chapter is a flashback (terugflits) that Xander Gericke has when he was a
12 year old boy
• When Xander saw his dad with the gun for the first time he was 11 years old
but now he is having flashbacks as a 12year old
• Took place in Johannesburg

• Xander loop in n donker gaag af na sy pa se kantoor (office) toe
• Hy loop in die kantoor in en sien sy pa is half gebuig oor die lessenaar (desk)
• Op die lessenaar was daar 2 goed:
o `n geel koevert (a yellow envelope)
o 9mm pistool (a 9mm gun)
• His dad is acting a bit strange, takes the gun, folds it in a cloth (lap) and puts it
in the drawer of his desk
• Xander probeer sin maak (make sense) hoekom daar n pistool in hulle huis is
• Xander se die deurhandvatsel (doorhandel) ruik nogsteeds soos politoer
(polish)
• Xander goes into his dads office to tell him that there are 2 men at the door for
him – “Dok” sent them
• Xander se pa tree vreemd op (acting strange) en sê vir hom om iewers te
gaan wegkruip – hy moet daar bly todat sy pa hom roep
• Xander sê Pa se hy is baie lief vir hom “altyd maak nie saak wat gebeur nie”
• Xander voel dit is soos monsters in sy huis is
• Xander sien hoe hierdie 2 mans sy pa met n vuis slaan (punched him) en sy
pa sak inmeekar
• Xander’s dad was punched and falls to the ground
