- Die titel verwys na die dinge wat die spreker geglo het toe sy nog klein was

Die kabouter kan verwys na:

bestaan het, maar nou besef sy dat hy nie meer met 'n slee vol persente by
haar sal opdaag om haar hart bly te maak nie.

- As kind het die spreker geglo dat die tandemuis in die nag haar melktandjie
weggeneem het en geld in die plek daarvan gelos het, maar nou weet sy dat
die tandemuis eintlik maar net haar ma was.

- Sy weet nou dat 'n padda nie in 'n prins sal verander as jy hom soen nie.
- Moontlik het die spreker nog nie die regte man ontmoet nie, want sy is
negatief teenoor die romantiese fantasie van paddaprinse.
Reël 5
- Die man op die maan bestaan nie regtig nie.
- Die spreker besef nou dat dit 'n leuen is wat mense vir haar vertel het: die
enigste man op die maan is deur die mens self daar geplaas: die
ruimtereisiger Neil Armstrong.
