1.1 List and explain the five steps necessary to develop a lesson plan. (SDTECSY pg 45) (10)
a) Step 1: Indicate the content, context, Learning Outcomes and Assessment Standards.
 Copy this information from the Work Schedule for the particular grade.
 It can also be obtained from CAPS or ATP for the subject.
b) Step 2: Develop activities and select teaching method.
 Decide on how to teach the learning Outcomes and Assessment Standards indicated in step 1
and develop the activity that will facilitate the development of the skills, knowledge and values
in the particular grouping.
 Thereafter, determine the most suitable teaching method for the activities and provide a
description of how the learners will engage in each activity.
 Example of teaching methods, direct instruction, explaining, group discussion, practical,
questions and answer methods.
c) Step 3: Consider diversity.
 Use various options available within each activity that will allow expanded opportunities to those
learners that require individual support.
 The support provided must ultimately guide learners to develop the skills, knowledge and
values indicated in the grouping of Learning Outcomes and Assessment Standards.
d) Step 4: Review assessment and LTSM
 Indicate the details of the assessment strategy and LTSM to be used in each activity.
e) Step 5: Allocate time
 Give an indication of how much time will be spent on each activity in the Lesson Plan.
 Example 1 hour Lesson topic (simple circuit components)

1.2 With reference to learning and teaching support material, discuss five kinds of resources that a
teacher can utilize in the planning of a Technological lesson. (SDTECSY pg 65) (10)

 These are used to enhance teaching and learning.

the assessment standards of the different learning outcomes in subject.
