1.1 Tabulate the differences between the constructivist and behaviourist theories of teaching
and learning. (5x2=10)
1.2 Outline and explain the steps to be followed by learners when using a group investigation
technique. (5x2=10)
1.3 Differentiate between formative and summative assessment. Name a distinctive
assessment tool that can be used for each of these forms of assessment and provide
examples that are relevant to Business Studies. (5x2=10)

2.1 A novice teacher, armed with the correct theory and skills to develop teaching media, can
change a learner’s view of Business Studies. With this statement in mind, briefly discuss
how you would use any four teaching resources in a low-resourced environment. (10)
2.2 Excursions, as a discovery learning method, can be regarded as a type of lesson, which
provides opportunities for observation, and aims to familiarise learners with the complex
structure of the adult world. List and explain the advantages of such excursions for
Business Studies learners. (10)
2.3 Use any topic from the CAPS Business Studies teaching plans for Grade 10 and explain
how you would implement JIGSAW as a cooperative learning method in the teaching of
Business Studies. (10)

3.1 Explain the levels of Bloom's taxonomy of educational outcomes for the cognitive domain.
Illustrate, with an applicable example, that you can apply it in the formulation of outcomes
by formulating an outcome for each level using the relevant action words. (14)
3.2 Explain the criteria and elements for formulating criterion-directed behavioural outcomes. (8)
3.3 Discuss, with an applicable example, the advantages of the project method in the
teaching of Business Studies. (8)

4.1 Prepare a lesson according to the lesson plan template (Appendix 1) for Grade 12 learners
in Business Studies, the lesson topic is: Human resource function. Use the lesson plan

5.1 Formulate any three lesson aims that you want to achieve in a lesson about Business
Sectors, lesson topic: Primary, secondary and tertiary sectors for Grade 10. Explain to what
extent your lesson aims comply with the requirements of a well-formulated lesson aim. (8)
5.2 To overcome learning barriers in the classroom, teachers need to use several curricular
strategies to address differences. Explain how you would accommodate learners with varying
abilities in Business Studies. (10)
5.3 Critically discuss the factors to be considered in the choice of methods of instruction. (12)
