Dear Student
1 WELCOME
This examination, Assessment/Portfolio 50, must be completed as part of the mandatory five weeks
face-to-face teaching practice. It is Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) linked to your compulsory
theory modules for second-level Grade R Diploma.
You must complete all activities in Grade R with the assistance of your mentor-teacher in a school
where you will do your mandatory teaching practice.
Please read through all the tutorial letters you receive because they always contain important and
urgent information. You can download them soon after you have registered. They are our way of
communicating with you about teaching and learning and assessment.
You are registered at an Open Distance e-Learning (ODEL) institution where there is no physical
contact with your lecturers. As a result, your studies can be a challenging and lonely journey.
Please use the university’s learning management system to access the support and ensure that
you succeed in your studies. This year, you will be supported through the following:
• study materials posted on the Moodle platform where all assessments are included on
Moodle Announcements. Make sure that you visit the Moodle platform every three days or
more.
• discussion forums where you can post questions so that your lecturer can assist you with
any challenges you face in the module
• Microsoft teams meetings where you will be expected to book slots on a scheduler on the
Moodle platform to join the live meetings
• Tippy Tube video links
• any other communication on the Announcements platform must be read on a regular basis
Tutorial Letter 101 contains important general administrative information about this module. We
urge you to read it carefully and keep it at hand when you work through the study material.
You are urged to submit this examination portfolio within three weeks after your school
visit. If you fail to do so, you will be penalised. This examination portfolio is your final
examination for the TPG2602 module.
